Durban - The case involving the suspects who allegedly instigated the civil unrest in July last year was postponed to August 26 on Friday at the Durban Magistrate's Court. 19 suspects received bail of R3,000 on Friday by Magistrate Anand Maharaj, according to Independent Media’s Duncan Guy who was at court. One suspect was not in custody. As part of their bail condition, the 19 suspects were told not to post inciting statements related to their charges on social media. Magistrate Maaharaj postponed the case until August 26. The suspects face charges of conspiracy to commit public violence, incitement to commit public violence and incitement to commit arson. 20 suspects linked to the unrest were arrested by the Hawks on Thursday during a multi-disciplinary operation that was conducted across six provinces at the same time.
