Learn Consolation Köhler 25 Romantic Etudes Op 66 No 4

Köhler uses the words espressivo and voce. So, I like to think of this as the voices between a male and a female and perhaps they are husband and wife. For some reason I get this 19th century feeling of a big drawing room, big hoop skirts, cravats for the guys. And they're having a rather heated discussion.

The male and female voices argue back and forth until he concedes. She softens her tone. The argument ends. Then they sing together.

It's a great one to add to your repertoire of etudes. Think about it as a musical and phrasing exercise, not just a technical exercise.

Have Fun!
