Live from scene in Beirut as a gunman 'takes hostages' in Federal Bank

SGN is carrying live coverage from Beirut, after a man holding a shotgun and canister of gasoline entered a branch of the Federal Bank in the Hamra district on Thursday August 11.

Witnesses say that the man is holding from six or seven hostages and report that three warning shots had been fired.

He has reportedly demanded his savings being released, as he claims they have been frozen due foreign currency withdrawal restrictions that had been implemented in Lebanon since 2019
