Lifting Our Jayco Pop Up | How to Raise Roof With a Broken Pulley | Tent Trailers
It’s not impossible with one but it definitely takes a lot longer when you have at least one pulley that’s broken.
Thankfully, that’s all we’ve seen thus far. 4 two by fours at the right height would certainly keep the roof up. we only needed one. But Jay recently had open heart surgery and is still on lifting / pulling / pushing restriction.
The sweet family that gifted us the camper also offered to help when we were getting ready to raise it.
Which we accepted and you’ll see why 🙂.
After we did get it raised and began to pull the beds out, we were shown that the beds need to be pulled out after the supports are placed, not before.
Thank you, Joy!! 🤠
And I added a quick look at some of the amenities. But in order to fully check all of the pulley system, we will be taking out any of the cabinetry necessary to do that.
And while they’re out, we will either be painting or contact paper designing them 🙂.
There is some minor repair needed to the rear in order to replace one tail light but otherwise the camper is in amazing condition for having been sitting for a couple of years!
And finally we are not sure about the AC / heat unit. We do have portable AC as well as a buddy heater so that’s not a big concern but we are considering either a fantastic fan or a simple vent in its place if it does not work.
Our plan is to document as much as possible for anyone else on this journey now or in the future. We will be keeping the videos as short as possible and categorizing them because you may not need to know how to replace a pulley today but you may in the future - or may not and you’re only visiting to see how we did something else.
I am a firm believer that YouTube is an amazing educational tool - people helping people for free (for the most part =)!
So, you’ve found this video to be helpful, please consider liking and subscribing (hit that bell 🔔 too) so that you can get new videos in your feed as soon as they drop AND so that YouTube will share with others it may help as well. Thanks!
