Replace an ABB 550 VFD with an ABB 580 VFD on an Air Handler Supply Fan Motor

The ABB 550 VFD is a good reliable VFD but they can eventually fail. When a failure in a VFD happens, it may be time to replace it. Recently we had to replace an ABB 550 with a newer ABB 580 VFD on an air handler supply fan motor.

I began the project by tracing out the control wiring to verify the prints were correct. After removing the old drive I installed the new 580 and reconnected the control wiring. After wiring the VFD, I powered it up and began programming it.
