In order to play blues and rock guitar, string stretching is a vital concern. It is very rare that you ever hear a guitar solo without some kind of stretching of strings.
The sound of rock and blues and sometimes jazz is heard by many with guitar string stretching as the sound that makes its familiarity known.
Should there be no stretching, that is where you find classical guitar.
By stretching you lay down an important earmark of a good guitar solo.
The best guitar solos will always have guitar string stretching, hammering and pull offs in combination with regular fretted notes.
