Night Fishing For Walleye / Night Fishing From Shore / Best Lure For Walleye

Here is a new walleye fishing video! Its late summer in Michigan and the walleye fishing is starting to pick up. Summer Walleye fishing is hard especially in my neck of the woods where if I catch 2 in the summer its a big deal! I don't think the quest for summer walleye lures is the answer as much as being sure to go fishing at night...

As I mentioned recently in another video I have been doing more night fishing lately. Night fishing for walleye is the bees knees. The first walleye I ever caught was the first time I ever went night fishing in the river. I since have learned to catch walleye during the day as well but I still catch way more walleye fishing at night. In this video I am mostly night fishing from shore but am also doing some wading. I recommend wading the river at night to anyone who is into thrill seeking or catching walleye.

When night fishing for walleye not just any lure will do... So what is the Best lure for walleye? Thats a hard question and I probably am not qualified to say what the best lure for walleye is but if I had to pick one lure it would be the Rapalla Shadow Rap. The Rapalla Shadow rap gets my pick as the best lure for walleye because that is what. I have caught the most walleye on. Don't forget to use those night fishing colors if your going to go after walleye at night. Also fair warning the hooks on Rapalla Shadow Raps are junk and should be replaced. The lures themselves break easy and are still my top pick for best walleye fishing lure.

In this video I am using Rapalla Shadow Raps, the Salvage Bait Co. Scrappy Swimmer, and Mepps Spinners. The Salvage Bait company Scrappy swimmer has quickly become one of my absolute favorite all purpose fishing lures. The Scrappy Swimmer catches Pike, Bass, Panfish and walleye with ease. I usually toss them with a 1/4 or 1/8 oz jig and a stinger hook. I love the action in the Salvage Bait co scrappy swimmer and fish do to. As far as the Mepps Spinners go Ive ben a Mepps spinner user all my life. I remember as a kid my dad always talked about Mepps spinners as if they were the best thing since sliced bread. I always had better luck with Panther Martin Spinners on my local river for smallmouth so I forgot about the Mepps spinners for a while. Years later a fishing buddy turned me back on to the Mepps Spinners and I am glad he did. Mepps spinners have become my go to searching lure and have caught me countless Bass, Pike and walleye, Panfish and trout and is my preferred spinner for salmon and steelhead.
