Detroit Tigers fire Al Avila after 7 seasons as general manager, 22 years with organization

The Detroit Tigers have fired general manager Al Avila after he spent 22 years with the organization and seven years as the GM. The announcement was made Wednesday (Aug. 10) through the team’s PR Twitter account.
