Atomic Structure: Atoms are Made of Protons, Electrons and Neutrons (Lecture 6)

All life is based on chemistry and all chemistry is based on atoms. Atoms are made of subatomic particles. Subatomic particles are protons, neutrons and electrons. The atomic structure of an atom has the protons and neutrons in the nucleus and the electrons are somewhere outside of the nucleus. The majority of all the mass of an atoms is in the nucleus and the nucleus of an atom contains all the protons and neutrons. All atoms are neutral. Consider that the charge of a proton is positive and the charge of electron is negative. This means that the number of protons must be equal to the number of electrons.

A common question on chemistry exams is:
balance the following chemical equation followed by an unbalanced chemical equation.
