My name is John Moss. The firm is Moss and Moss LLP. My practice area is primarily real estate and corporate council work. I've been practicing since 2002 and the firm has been extant since 1997. I grew up in New York City.

Currently I live in Jersey City, but we've been in the metro area for the past 40 some-odd years. Our firm does primarily residential real estate. The truth is that there are more attorneys in New York to do residential real estate than you can shake a stick at and there are some that charge next to nothing, and there's some the charge at fortune and you can find competent attorneys anywhere. The question is whether you can find attorneys that will actually work with you, that will answer your questions, that will return your phone calls. The thing that I think we provide clients that sets us apart is really the personal touch.

It's the time that we take with the clients to make sure they're comfortable that they understand what's going on the transaction. They have a reference point that they have somebody that they can call and ask questions of. There are some attorneys that really just do the bare minimum and I think that it's important when you talk to an attorney and interviewing an attorney, it's important to ask the questions not just about price but about how they conduct themselves.

Price becomes critical, I mean obviously money is important and every aspect of the transaction. It's an expensive transaction every piece, every bit matters. This is the kind of thing where you don't want to go wrong with and it's really important to have someone on your team that you trust.
