Lethbridge Plasma Donor Centre Needs 1500 Appointments Filled - August 10, 2022 - Micah Quinn

There is a dire need for blood across the country right now. That is according to Canadian Blood Services which says they require 57,000 open appointments to be filled before the end of August. Officials say they are experiencing a lack of people coming in to donate. At the Plasma Donor Centre in Lethbridge, over 1500 plasma donation appointments are needed to be filled as well before the end of August. The Manager of Business Development for the centre, Brenna Scott, explains the difference between blood, platelets and plasma.

Canadian Blood Services says that they will need 100,000 new donors this year to keep up with the need for blood.
