In Cherkassy, despite attempts by police to protect him, the pro-Russian (but anti-"invasion"), Eurosceptic, Opposition Platform For Life (OPFL) party MP was pursued by nationalist activists who appear to have broken his nose and forced him to kneel, denounce Putin, apologise to the far-right Azov battalion, National Corps party and Right Sector, and chant nationalist slogans. Afterwards they doused him in green paint, which is commonly used to signify collaboration with Russian "orcs." Ukrainian media reporting on the incident did not extend him any sympathy and only spoke with activists.
