8/27/19 - So no new info except that the doctors are not communicating with each other and we are getting mixed information because one says its good to have the pacemaker in and then another is not for it as their are for gramp's wishes which he said no unnecessary surgeries to prolong his life and he last year said no to a pacemaker when he was of sound mind and now that he is not completely of sound mind they are saying we should go with his wishes and not do it. I don't know if at the time of him being told at his doctors about a pacemaker, if he truly understood what it was and how it worked. I was not at that appointment so I don't know how he reacted or if the doctor told him in details or in general terms. So this is the current predicament we are in, and the longer he goes without it, the worse he will get and his quality of life will go down. So it s now just for us to get more info and hope that the doctors will educate us on it more so we can make an informed decision verses going against gramp's wishes if he truly understood what a pacemaker was and did and still didn't want it. The fact that gramp is not with it enough currently to tell us due to the stress that the fainting put on his body, and the rate at which he is starting to recover from that is a serious hurdle as we don't fully know what he would want us to do. I will keep you updated when we get new info.
