Almost Spooled By A King Salmon // King Salmon Fishing Michigan // Salmon Fishing Michigan Rivers

In this fishing video I was fishing for trout with my 6’6” medium action Gander Mountain Vortex rod. I had an 8lb fluorocarbon leader on. I can’t believe I landed This King salmon with all the trouble it put me through. At one point this king salmon ripped the reel right off the rod and at another point it almost spooled me. You haven’t experienced real fishing till you almost get spooled. I once almost got spooled on my bigger rod and reel set up while night fishing for King Salmon and it was quite the experience. The power they hold is insane! So As I said I was trout fishing and not expecting a king so I got very excited. All in all it was an exhausting endeavor but totally worth it to see and hold a big king. Weather you are fishing The Muskegon river or the Perf Marquette River or the Manistee River or the Betsie river or the Grand River. There are kings waiting to try to spool you so go get em!
