Recession cooking for me has been about being creative with what we already had in the freezer, fridge and cupboards, but still making some familiar favourites. I've been super impressed with our diet, we have not strayed or over-indulged, but rather stuck with an eating pattern that suits us.

Since the first lockdown in the UK, we have adapted how we shop and have learned how to eek out ingredients and how to use alternatives to our normal items, also, what we can do without, and not sacrifice on taste.
Our freezer really has become our friend!

This meal cost £2.57 per person and we already had everything and there is more of everything left, so it will be a good redo, or build on...like a Recession lasagne (with the meat) or the spaghetti with a different topping, just as simple...chicken and a cheesy sauce perhaps.

This bolognese fed two people easily and we were not hungry afterwards, so if you are two adults with maybe one child, it would not take much more to feed them too, for a negligable cost.

Tell me about your cooking adventures (or misadventures) from this weird time that we have collectively been going through
