It's a tale that gets better and better as things develop. Someone bought one of a handful of books collecting the production designs and concept art for Alexandro Jodorowsky's attempt to adapt Frank Herbert's DUNE from way back in the day -- even before David Lynch did it.
And then, this person thought that because he now owned one of the books, he had the rights to make the movie.
It went downhill from there.
