A Memorial Service for Helen Lucille Hollar Hester

Helen Lucille Hollar Hester, age 94 of Conover, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her residence. Born June 8, 1926 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Guy Elcana Hollar and Malona Pearl Sigmon Hollar.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Smith Hester; sons, Harold Dean Hester, Coy Lee Hester, brothers, Vance, Fred, G.E., Roy, and Boyce Hollar; and sister, Lena Hollar Bumgarner.

Helen was a professional seamstress and loved quilting.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Allen D. Hester, Kevin W. Hester (Robyn Dalton), Scott L. Hester and partner Bill Lattimore; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover, with Rev. Scott Johnson and Assistant Pastor Anton Lagoutine officiating.
