Star Wars News | Mandalorian Season 3 Finale Leaked | Sequel Trilogy Tie-In

A new report has allegedly detailed the ending of The Mandalorian Season 3, revealing how the Star Wars series' finale will play out months before it is expected to air on Disney+.

The leaked synopsis claims that The Mandalorian Season 3's final episode will pay off a plot point set-up in the show's spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett, reports Making Star Wars. As outlined in the report, the climactic scene will see Din Djarin, Grogu, The Armorer, Paz Vizla, and Bo Katan enter the Mines of Mandalore first referenced in The Book of Boba Fett's fifth episode, "Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian."

Insiders described the Mines as comprising "a large mountain with snow on top," as well as "a frozen body of water like a large lake or ocean." These same sources also held that the finale of The Mandalorian Season 3 will revolve around a purification ceremony, in which the galaxy's now-unified Mandalorian tribes will chant and bang their gauntlets together. This ritual will supposedly rouse a Mythosaur -- a legendary creature revered by Mandalorians since ancient times.

Other elements of the report seem to verify wider speculation on The Mandalorian Season 3. One such rumor is that Grogu will don battle armor fashioned out of the retrofitted body of his one-time droid protector, IG-11. Grogu's mech suit will allegedly be capable of communicating with its tiny green pilot and will once again be voiced by Taika Waititi.

Another rumor seemingly borne out of the supposed finale synopsis ties The Mandalorian to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This theory -- fueled by a photo purportedly taken inside the show's costume department -- suggests that Din Djarin and his allies will come up against forces led by Supreme Leader Snoke's Elite Praetorian Guard. The leaked image shows a trio of red helmets similar to those worn by the Guard, which will supposedly be worn by the soldiers under their command.

This has sparked further speculation that The Mandalorian Season 3 will delve into the origins of the Supreme Leader himself by linking Moff Gideon's mission to capture Grogu with the eventual creation of Force-sensitive clones like Snoke. The Elite Praetorian Guard's involvement in The Mandalorian Season 3 is not officially confirmed, and the show's connection to Snoke and his backstory remains pure conjecture at this time.

Star Trek:

Captain Kirk is back. Or rather, Captain Kirk will be back. Although Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 will debut on May 5, 2022, and chronicle the adventures of Captain Pike (Anson Mount), Spock (Ethan Peck), Number One (Rebecca Romijn), Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding), and the rest of the Enterprise crew, we know now that in Season 2 — not the season coming this May — we’ll also see a new version of Captain James T. Kirk. But. He might not be the Captain. Yet.

According to a surprise announcement from Paramount+, actor Paul Welsey will join the Season 2 cast of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as James T. Kirk. The press release stops short of calling him Captain Kirk, although the promotional photo certainly makes it looks like this version of Kirk is rocking the captain’s stripes on his uniform sleeve. So, is Paul Wesley taking over for Anson Mount in Strange New Worlds season 2? The answer to that question is a big probably not, so the existence of Kirk in this show is a bit of a mystery. If we’re not seeing Kirk take over the Enterprise, and Pike step-down, what will Kirk’s role be in Strange New Worlds season 2?

At this point, only the people making the show actually know the answer, but one specific piece of existing Star Trek canon could give us a big clue as to what Paul Wesley’s Kirk might be doing. Maybe, in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2, we won’t just see the adventures of the Enterprise, maybe we’ll see Kirk as the captain of a different ship as part of a larger fleet.
