Star Wars News | Book of Boba Fett Season 2? | Ahsoka Update | New Trilogy?

Book of Boba Fett Season 2:
Even though the finale of The Book of Boba Fett has come and gone, Star Wars fans have yet to hear if the bounty hunter-turned-crime lord's series will have another chapter. To date, The Book of Boba Fett is only Lucasfilm's second live-action series, but since The Mandalorian's second season was announced before Season 1 debuted on Disney+, the silence regarding Boba's future is surprising.

But, then again, The Book of Boba Fett has been anything but expected.

Audiences were shocked and even confused when the series was first announced at the end of The Mandalorian's second season via a post-credits stinger, especially since those viewers were expecting Mando Season 3 followed by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and Ahsoka.

Then, throughout the series' 7-episode run, reviews were often mixed; and while fans loved the return of key Star Wars characters, their roles seemed to hurt Boba Fett's character more than it helped.

As fans are left to wonder whether Lucasfilm will pursue a second season, some took Fennec Shand actress' Ming-Na Wen's prior social media posts, where she referred to the series as Season 1, as evidence of a second season; and now, The Book of Boba Fett star has responded.

In sharing a Star Wars Twitter post about The Book of Boba Fett, Fennec Shand star Ming-Na Wen clarified why she referred to the show as Season 1, which led to comments from fans assuming Season 2 could be in the works, in a tweet that read:

"Everyone jumped to conclusions when I called it the first season. What else would I call it?!! To clarify, it doesn't imply there's a 2nd. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Enjoy all the chapters of The Book of Boba Fett."

Ahsoka Update:
The actor, who last appeared on History Channel’s Vikings, has joined Ahsoka, the next Star Wars live-action series gearing up to go into production at Lucasfilm and Disney+.

The series centers on fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi Knight survivor popular on the animation side of Star Wars who made her live-action debut in the second season of The Mandalorian and appeared in an episode of The Book of Boba Fett.

Plot details are being kept secret, but the setup has consisted of Tano journeying from one end of the galaxy to another in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a former commander in the Empire.

Rosario Dawson is starring as the titular character and the cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ukrainian actress Ivanna Sakhno and Australian thespian Natasha Liu Bordizzo. Hayden Christensen is reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker.

It is unclear who Stevenson will play, but sources say he is a villain in the series and will play an admiral … although, not Thrawn.

New Trilogy:
There are currently not many signs that Lucasfilm is in a hurry to put of any more Star Wars movies. Following the sequel trilogy that ended with The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, the only movie on the horizon is the Patty Jenkins directed Rogue Squadron film which is currently down to arrive in 2023 but has recently had its own set of problems that could yet see it delayed or scrapped entirely. However, a new report has suggested that behind the scenes there could be a lot going on at Lucasfilm, and not just in relation to the chunky Disney+ slate that is currently in development.

It seems that there are plans being discussed to bring a brand new trilogy of films to the Star Wars universe, one set after events of The Rise of Skywalker that would bring in a new Jedi Order to the fore. Obviously Disney is not about to let the Star Wars universe sit and stagnate in a corner, or allow it to become a Disney+ exclusive project. Star Wars is one of the biggest movie franchises in the world, and for that reason there are always going to be new films coming at some time in the future. Although it was widely said that Disney did not want to go down the route of more Skywalker movies, that could be about to change.

Star Wars Auction:
Auction house Goldin Auctions is hosting an online sale featuring a handful of vintage VHS tapes, one of which is 1984 first release of Star Wars. The copy includes a "Gray Tape-Head," a "First Edition Stereo Only" red label, a "1984 Sleeve" and "First Edition CBS/Fox Watermarks." There are also two other 1984 Star Wars VHS copies for sale and a sealed copy of the Star Wars 10-Year Anniversary Original Trilogy Set in Trilogy Case, which is expected to go between $10,000 and $20,000. The auction is set to end on Wednesday, February 23rd.

While Star Wars was released in theaters in 1977, it wasn’t until 1982 that the film became available on VHS for rental only. In 1984, it became available for purchase. The edition for sale was previously sold at auction for $57,600. This may seem like an absurd amount of money for a VHS, especially considering home viewers are already on the brink of outgrowing DVDs.
