BUG 1975 - An earthquake releases a strain of mutant carbon-eating cockroaches with the ability to start fires that cause destructive chaos in a small town. Scientist James Parmiter decides to study these bugs and is intent on an experiment that has more dangerous and far-reaching consequences.

William Castle produced this entry in the popular 'nature goes wild' ecology oriented features of the period. Journeyman director Jeannot Szwarc does an admirable job with the somewhat limited plot material. The FX are pretty darn good, using real giant roaches from the Amazon along with well-made models.
