Ethel at the Gate: Weird Tales with Charles Christian

Charles Christian from Weird Tales Radio talks to us about the gravesite of Ethel Preston, wife of Walter Preston. The memoria site is called 'Ethel at the gate'. Walter was related to a skilled sculptor and upon his Ethles' death in 1911 he asked his great-nephew to carve Ethel's life-size memorial out of white Italian marble. However, why does the statue's face have such a sad, mournful expression? People have even commented that the face is so depressing to look at, that the expression "You look so glum, you have a face like Lawnswood Ethel" was formed.
