Emergency Computer Desk build from Salvaged wood from the property // The Homestead #13

An action packed episode! today we had an electrician visit our property, Kage and his partner Ellie. You might recognize them from my latest van tour video on different media. That's because they live in their van! they have one of the most well equipped van I have ever seen. A true DIY deluxe build, built for Ontario winters with heated floors and a diesel cab heater, a fridge / freezer, bathroom with composting toilet and shower, smart tv with its own sliding compartment. honestly one of the coolest vans I've ever had the opportunity to film. Kage after checking out my electrical starts filling his new van water filters, and we decide to check out the farmhouse water filters as we haven't taken the time to insect those yet. turns out one of them shockingly full of silt. After Kage and Ellie leave for their cross country trip, I start working on building a temporary desk for my studio. I use only material I find on the property, the legs end up being cut from a post that once held the house up, the desktop made from 2 inch pine board shelves that I found in the garage. while I try to focus on that job, others get in the way and that's the way it goes when you live in your renovation.
