Forced to Get Mortgage Insurance even with 20% Down... // First time Home buying process.

Emily and I are trying to buy a home to turn into a modern homestead with the goal of self-sufficiency. We found a property we like in Ontario that is perfect for a permaculture food forest. But to buy it we need a mortgage and with a mortgage sometimes they want mortgage insurance which is pretty much a scam to tax poor people when you think about it. My idea to avoid it was to put 20% down, (even though as a first time home buyer in Canada you can put as low as 5% down) However the Banks said you know what... because this property is rural we want mortgage insurance anyway. So wack! so anyway I talk about the pros and cons of us putting 10% down or 20% and I also talk about some other things but you will have to watch the video to hear that.
