------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since December 1st, 2018, it has been 25 months since Meng Wanzhou, vice chairman and chief financial officer of Hua wei, was arrested in Canada. Although various parties have been appealing for her release, she still has to face countless hearings to come, before a final decision could be made whether she will be extradited to the United States.

On August 22, 2018, a court judge in New York issued an international warrant to arrest Meng Wanzhou, with various charges against her relating to circumventing the Iran sanctions act, including doing business in Iran through SKycom and defrauding HSBC. It is noteworthy that the Iran Sanctions Act is a unilateral domestic law of the United States to force Iran back to nuclear negotiation, which Canada itself has not acknowledged, and Canada is still doing business with Iran as well.

Between August 22 and December 1st, 2018. Meng Wanzhou visited or passed by many countries including the UK, France, Japan, Ireland, and so on, none of those countries took any action against her, in response to the international warrant, although most of them have extradition agreements with the United States.
