After parents, teachers play a significant role in shaping a child in their childhood. When students are at school, only teachers have their responsibility and they have to take care of them.
Different children can experience different mental traumas in their childhood. The reasons also vary from child to child, like the stress of studying, bullying by classmates, child abuse, not getting enough love or affection from parents, etc. The most common mental health disorders among children include anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, OCD, eating disorder, substance abuse, etc.

A school system can help a student in many ways to get through their mental disorders. They can have student psychologists, counselors, and many more things. However, a teacher’s role in helping students with their mental problems is much bigger.

Teachers can help students by recognizing their mental health issues, talking with them, and talking to their parents to take further steps. The main point is to understand the child and help them get through their problems rather than hindering them or forcing academics upon them.
