What I learned from Quitting my Phone + Social Media.

The results from a no phone experiment. I realized that my life had been filtered through my phone, I would walk around while looking at Instagram, or when I worked I would be listening to a podcast. I found that this wasn't serving me. And I wasn't even sure what part of it wasnt working. I thought maybe because it wasn't giving me much time alone and able to think. So I started with that hypothesis and went without my phone for a week.
I learned much more about what having a phone does and how the frequent interruptions cause more problems then different longer focus mediums of entertainment like tv or movies. I actually had a major creative breakthrough the week without my phone that I credit to not being distracted and not having information and stimuli shoved through my eyes and ears all the time. I learned a lot by this simple week fast, more than I thought I would actually.
