What I learned from making a Travel Film With Guest Greg Wong (Cinematographer + Editor)

In this video I talk with cinematographer and co-editor of the film Moments, Greg Wong. He's a good friend of mine and a couple summers ago I hired him on to film a sailing trip through the gulf islands on the west coast of Canada, What we intended to make was a sequel to the travel film I made called Best friends, but with the addition of Greg behind the camera. The trip and filming was wildly under planned but it led us to work together after filming as I hired Greg back on to do an edit of the footage into a feature length film. What he produced blew my mind, it was a slice of life style documentary that made the viewer feel like they were part of the crew, completely different then the segment style film that we had intended and failed to produce. In my opinion What the footage became was far better and stands up against time, where I segment style film might have preformed better, We both felt like this slice of life style might be able to create a more connected following because of it's rawness.
