Stealth DIY Van Life Tour! | budget Box Truck conversion with RV Automation, Bathroom, ETC

Sachiko and Moritz Bought their Box Van in 2020 and worked hard to keep their budget as low as possible while also not compromising the many amenities they felt necessary to have on board to make their van life experience comfortable and Functional. This meant going the DIY route and not buying a prefab camper or sprinter. Luckily they both have the spirit to learn while they do, so much so that Moritz built and programed a custom home automation system for their van, The functions include being able to control lighting, seeing how much water capacity they have, controlling their environment by adjusting their fantastic fan, and all this through a tablet! Pretty amazing stuff and something I hadn't seen in an RV and I've filmed more than a 130 of these tour videos! They also were able to keep their budget low but the aesthetic high by using simple and low cost product for finishing the walls, ceiling, and shower like pine boards and vinyl flooring. They also use a 24 volt electrical system instead of a 12 volt system which is more traditional, which allowed them to save on the cost of wire, and is also efficient for their inverter because it doesn't need to step the voltage up as much. They also run a 110 volt dorm style fridge off this system which works well for them and is a budget solution compared to the 1000$ 12 volt fridges out there designed for this lifestyle. The creativity and beauty is obvious in this build, and Sachiko and Moritz share their favorite moments as well as their biggest fears and problems with their van life experience so far, such as the fear of a break in, and they also get candid about the challenge of downsizing using the Marie kondo method to adapt to this more minimalist and nomadic way of life that they have chosen.
