Solo Van Tour | Perfect Sprinter Van camper Conversion for Northern Canadian Winter Vanlife.

John was living in Iqaluit, Nunavut when he started the process of buying and building a van out professionally. He contacted Ray outfitted in Ontario and they helped him remotely purchase his Mercedes sprinter van 144 wheel base and with the build out. John spent time considering all of the functions he wanted in his van. His van is equipped with a 600watt solar panel array that is on a tilting rack that he can raise and lower with the push of a button. John is a digital nomad so designing multiple work stations was important. He has a standing desk area that works with either a wall mounted computer screen or with the additional laptop stand, There are three counter top slides that come out to make extra table tops and they also serve as work stations with the drivers seat as the chair. John's cabinets were built by overland interiors out of Baltic birch plywood, the result is beautiful wood grain showing through the blue stain, and exposed plys where honeycomb pattern was cut to reduce weight. John uses a Onewheel for transport if he parks his van away from wherever he is. He charges it and powers all the rest of his appliances with 400 amp hours of Lithium battleborn batteries. He also has a Espar diesel heater with a thermostat that keeps the inside of the van nice and warm even in the Canadian winters.
