The LAST thing any orchid grower wants to do is NIP OFF BUDS, OR CUT FLOWER SPIKES! In most cases we grow our orchids for 11 months, to then enjoy the blooms! The flower spike / buds show themselves and of course we are all excited! So, why stop the blooming? How to know when it is a good time to stop the blooming and when it is ok to let an orchid bloom out, even though it is showing signs of stress! Why cutting off buds is a good thing for the orchid? What signs of stress to look out for, in case the orchid is growing a spike and we want to see the blooms? Why take off the flower spike from one orchid in stress and not the other? #orchidcare #healthyorchids #growingorchids #buds #spikes #prosthechearadiata #cattlianthesagarikwaxafricanbeauty
