Democrat-proposed Inflation Reduction Action, according to Sen. Rick Scott, R-Florida, will backfire and end up benefiting Republicans, he said on Sunday. Scott, the director of the Republican Senate Campaign Committee, ripped on the legislation that is due for a vote and seems to have the support of all Democrats in the chamber during an interview on CBS News' "Face The Nation."

He insisted that the law will benefit Republicans rather than Democrats. He recalled, "Raising taxes by $700 billion, slashing Medicare by $280 billion, increasing gas taxes, and hiring more IRS officers." "Are you aware of how grateful people are for the presence of extra IRS agents? There won't be much support for this across the nation.

The last thing the government should do right now, in Scott's opinion, is raise taxes.
