Things Breaking Down & Making Unconventional Cookies in Phoenix, AZ - Katrina is Scared of Bugs!

Hello!

This video was filmed 12/2021.

We continue our adventure onward to Phoenix, AZ! Here we enjoy all kinds of excitement, both the good and bad kind...

Katrina did some work on our now sold Honda XR100 motorcycle. She loved that bike and had a great time trouble shooting it, and working out what the issue might be when it began pouring gas out the bottom of the carb bowl. She rebuilt the whole thing and fixed the leak! She is pretty handy with fixing stuff too, it seems.

I made some chocolate chip cookies in some unconventional ways. Specifically, microwave cookies and Dutch Oven cookies.
The Dutch Oven ones were an epic fail, as they just burned on both sides and didn't even cook in the middle. The microwave ones actually worked pretty well! I found if you put them in a cereal bowl and cook for a little over a minute, I was able to make either mostly firm/cooked cookies, or the way that I found to be super tasty; barely cooked and with sugar crystals still intact. While I was making cookies, I grew rather worried as our generator was nearly failing and causing power surges. We tried fixing the problem ourselves, and when that didn't work out, we called "AZ Generator" and had a fantastic experience with them. Will go to them again if we are in the area!

Also, did you know that Katrina, a woman who can fix an engine, shoot a gun, and stay cool even while being bitten by a python, but yet is scared of bugs?? Yeah, I thought it was pretty dang odd, too!
I got some great footage of her insisting on keeping a safe distance from this really futuristic looking bug that really wanted to hang out with her as she worked on her laptop. She claimed it may have been there to lick her feet, so felt much safer putting on a pair of socks, for safety...
Working as a team, we prevailed when we got the bug outside the trailer. I was sad that my opportunities to tease her were vanishing, but she was pretty happy she could get back to work, and no longer be stalked by this insect.

As a bonus, we even had a rat build a nest in our truck's air intake and it caused an engine failure as we left this camping spot... This was NOT part of any video, but did add to the overall experience of Arizona. ;)

Despite all this, we had a great time even after being involved in all this, and look forward to going back at some point.

Enjoy!

We are Cody and Katrina, AKA Second Nature. We have been traveling the US in our 32’ 2018 Desert Fox 27fs toy hauler trailer since October 2021. A lot has happened since we left, and we hope you will come along for the ride!

When we first started on our trip a lot of chaos happened and we weren’t able to edit, so we’ve been working through our backlog of footage for a while. We plan to be caught up and current in the next few months. In the meantime, have fun watching our memories.
