Michael has been in the perhaps unique position of interviewing many of the leading thinkers in this area. In this interview I ask him about his own intellectual journey of coming to embrace such a seemingly radical position.

We also talk extensively about Michael’s time at the US State Department, where he once worked as a Middle East advisor. What he learnt there, about the nature of entrenched bureaucracies, coloured his future view of the medical industrial complex.
