How do you fight evil?

I know the answer is not more evil. The tree, which is on her property, grew up through the cable. The electric company wouldn’t trim it, the cable company wouldn’t trim it. I had cable and internet only intermittently. My wife and I had no choice but to trim the tree ourselves. Every limb we cut, was well over the property line. She came out when she saw us trimming, and turned her sprinkler on us. It was very hot and we welcomed the water, but much to her chagrined, the sprinkler couldn’t reach us through the tree we were trimming. We trimmed only what was needed, picked up our tools and left. She immediately turned off the sprinkler when we left. This is the kind of thing you see on TV. Crazy neighbor filled with hate and anger desperately looking for more reasons to be mad. I told her was willing to help her if she needed and assistance in her yard. She was shocked to see a reaction of kindness instead of more anger. I was shocked that she was shocked. This poor old lady has been a real head scratcher for us. For the life of me, I can’t imagine why she puts so much of her time and effort into hating us.
