US House speaker Nancy Pelosi has arrived in Taiwan despite warnings from China that slammed the visit as “extremely dangerous”. China has vowed “targeted military actions” in response to Pelosi’'s visit to Taiwan, warning Washington will pay the price over this visit.

Pelosi herself has said her Taiwan visit “in no way contradicts” US policy toward China.
