With a HDhomerun you can use it with Kodi with the HDhomerun add on that will give you EPG guide information and has a very good interface for your HDhomerun if your TV or Media viewing device has the ability to run the Kodi player.
In this video this is demonstrated using Debian Linux. But this will also work on Windows, Android and all devices that can run Kodi.
Note: Once Add on is installed make sure the PVR settings is Enabled for the HDhomerun add on!
