It's been a couple of weeks since the outbreak was declared, and you and your friend have been staying in this abandoned house ever since the two of you were cut off from the rest of the evacuation. To add to that, it's been two days since they left in search of supplies, way longer than they usually have to scavenge in order to get enough food and water to last a few days. It is during this time alone that someone happens to stumble into your "home."
