US Backing Haftar in Libya?

US officials recently met with an ally of Libya's Khalifa Haftar. Haftar has been fighting to capture the Libyan capital of Tripoli since April and the US has publicly condemned this action so far. Could they be preparing to shift allegiances and back Haftar?
