Why I am so Quarrelsome about Marvel and DC - The Hero's Quarrel Trailer

My name is Joe Meyer, and I have a quarrel to pick with how we are treating the heroic narrative. The truth is we need strong heroes more than ever to fight back against the increasing number of people who feel disconnected, anxious, and depressed. Research by people like Jonathan Haidt, Dacher Keltner has shown that being in awe of something greater than yourself, such as feats of heroism or acts of great courage, can help us feel more connected with ourselves and the world around us. The stories produced by both DC and Marvel could actually help with this; they could become genuine heroes by producing great stories from their amazing characters, instead of just coming out with constant content, stories that are uninspiring at best and depressing at their worst. It is for this reason that I am starting this channel. We need to build our own culture of heroism. Join me.
