An old plough, cast iron?

#plough #cast iron #farming #ontario #agriculture #historic #moldboard #prewar So I came across an old plough in a treed area, and couldn't help but take a closer look at it. It looks like it may be a prewar plough. It seems like it is held together by rivets and cotter pins. Looks like most of it is cast iron, but I am thinking maybe the springs are spring steel.. not sure I would need to research the history of springs to get a better idea what this may be.

I had another find today also on an old barn, and tied it into old medeival castle construction.. it seems that the stonestructure may have been parged... then the lattice was whitewashed to give it the appearance of blocks by creating a false pargecoat with a false pointline placed into the parge coat then the pointline was whitewashed to create a lime mortar appearance? The parging to create a concrete block or smooth limestone / granite look to them. Very interesting appearance.. I will try to record it and I would like to research to see if this false walling was used in period estates much the same as castles would cover their stones to give them a more epxensive appearance.. but also likely to help keep moisture out etc.... not sure need to research both the spring steel and these parge facades
