Question 2: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. This patient was observed for 12 years before requiring treatment. She was in remission for 6 years after the initial treatment. She was denied maintenance therapy and relapsed to only undergo another round of treatment. She is now in remission again after 9 months of treatment. The oncologist is suggesting to stay on ibrutinib for the 2 year period. Inbrutinib is a targeted therapy, it stops the lymphocyte from growing. This is a drug that you take until you die unless you relapse.
