In Colossians 3:1-11, we are encouraged to put away the old way of life and to abide in a new life with Christ Jesus, in which we strive through the Holy Spirit, to put our complete faith in Him by obeying Him and His word.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are reminded to do likewise: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

We are to strive to seek first God’s righteousness and His kingdom.
