Magazine Bans and Mass Shooter Reloads

Law makers often propose banning magazines that hold more than some number of rounds as a solution to mass shootings, claiming that doing so would slow the shooter down or give unarmed people a chance to fight back when he stops to reload, but the question is never asked: how often do mass shooters actually reload and present such opportunities already?

Knowing the answer would help to understand how helpful such a law would be. So we try to answer that question here by looking at many of the most highly publicized mass public shooting events. You may be surprised by what we find.
