Call of the Canyon Picnic area is known as the trail head for the famous West Fork Trail. The West Fork goes into a slot Canyon off of Oak Creek Canyon. There are huge Canyon walls on either side of you. The trail criss-crosses Oak Creek. There are rocks and logs to help navigate the creek crosses. This area is a favorite for hiking, fishing, bird watching, and photography. Parking is limited. People often wait for parking at this location.

The picnic area offers 6 picnic tables and has vault toliets. A few of the picnic tables are situated in the apple orchard, and the other picnic tables are positioned along the Creek providing excellent views.
