The Root of All Evil

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the power in the name of Jesus as we boldly enter into Your throne of grace and receive mercy for all our unrighteousness, and thank you Lord for delivering us from all evil. Amen.

I was thinking about a prayer point for our intercessory group, something to do with pulling up satanic roots, when the Lord broke into my thoughts and said, "You are on the right track, Elisabeth, I do want My intercessors to address the root cause of the evil in this world which all stems from Satan. My Spirit has been and will continue to help you formulate these prayers."

I stopped typing and listened for Holy Spirit's voice. One minute went by, two minutes goes by, five minutes goes by and then I heard, "Pray that every evil establishment and satanic tree in all nations be uprooted and cast into fire." I thought ooh that's good and quickly wrote that prayer down.

Jesus continued, "I am very pleased with My Heartdweller Watchman group and your efforts to intercede on the behalf of others. This type of deep, intercessory prayer, when prayed with intention, helps heal the hearts of those you are praying for and consoles Our hearts as well, which is very pleasing to Us.

"What makes up these roots of evil you are thinking? Pride, fear, jealousy, love of money and greed to name a few. Does it not say in My Word, "For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil." That's found in 1 Timothy 6:10.

He continued, "I do not condemn money as the root of all evil, but the love of money. My servant, Paul, wrote instruction on this point in Scripture and I would like all My people to have a firm grasp of what it means to be transformed into My image and lead a godly life. No true believer's life remains untouched by My gospel and this includes their finances. My love and work and the Holy Spirit's indwelling should have real implications for the way in which you interact with money.

"False teachers and those who are being led astray believe that godliness is a means of gain. On the contrary, godliness with contentment is great gain. You brought nothing into the world and you cannot take anything out of the world. If you have Me, and simplicity in food, clothing and shelter, you should be content.

"If you desire to be rich for personal gain, you will fall into temptation, into the devil's snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that will plunge you into ruin and down the road of destruction. All unhealthy cravings cause people to become short-sighted and you lose focus on the things that are eternal, causing all kinds of problems for yourselves, then you begin to wander away from the faith, feeling self-assured in your own temporal success.

"Use your finances for what you need to live on and give the rest to the poor. Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death." And that was the end of the Lord's message.

Proverbs 11:28 reads, "He who trust in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf." Amen!
