SHADOW ON THE LAND 1968 - ABC TV Movie (aka It Can't Happen Here) - A peculiarly topical film where an unspecified National Disaster leads Congress to grant great power to the President, who sets up an authoritarian government. Congress passes legislation creating the "Internal Security Force" which quashes all opposition, ID cards are required for travel within the nation, re-education camps are established for dissenters, the media becomes pawns of the government. So a resistance movement is formed. Starring Jackie Cooper, John Forsythe & Gene Hackman.
