Back in 2020...Cleveland decided to change the name of their Major League Baseball team to the Guardians. The mainstream media claimed there was severe backlash to their former name. Ownership in Cleveland responded to the backlash by changing the name to Guardians.
Two years later...the consequences of that unpopular decision have surfaced. We compare television ratings and attendance in Cleveland from 2019 to 2022. We explain why ratings and attendance have declined 30%...and discuss the various reasons fans in Cleveland are upset with the franchise.
