TIPS/GUIDELINES: Fasting and Praying To Destroy The Spirit of Lust

#Fasting will begin TOMORROW (Tuesday) at 6 AM YOUR LOCAL TIME. It will continue through THURSDAY at 6pm. So from 12/24 through 12/26.

# As much as possible, we will be doing WATER ONLY. I highly encourage you to buy some lemons for your water as it helps aide in detoxifying your system. Of course, anything else (like herbal bitters, etc.) that is in liquid form is more than fine. Please drink as much water as you can. Herbal teas with NO sugar is fine as well.

# Having 100% fruit juice or a fruit smoothie ONCE A DAY is more than fine just to keep your energy up. We have to use some wisdom when fasting. If you drive, handle dangerous equipment, maintaining some energy is important. But don’t use that as a reason to go overboard.

# Find a dedicated place (like a closet) in your home where you can pray for AT LEAST an hour a day. Give people in your house a heads up. No need to be “deep”. You may need to break up your prayer time throughout the day AND THATS FINE!! If your garage or car is all you have for places to pray, that’s more than fine. Be open to pray even longer as His Rua leads.

#If you are a gamer, love your movies, or watching your favorite series, remember, we are HUMBLING ourselves before The Most High. I doubt Moses was up on the mountain playing Subway Surfer on his phone as he waited for The Most High to speak to him.

# Since we are setting out to DESTROY the spirit of lust from our lives, take the time TONIGHT to remove and destroy ALL sex toys, devices, delete all social media accounts used to watch “certain things” anonymously. Delete phone numbers of those who have only been feeding you in this area, ask someone to set up passwords on cable/etc. that will block you from certain channels that have been feeding you in this area. Clear out all sexually-charged music. MAKE TONIGHT the night all things that have been hindering you be the night those things are removed out of your life for good.

# Find scriptures that deal with repentance and meditate on them.

# If the wet is nice, go for a walk or two and just talk with The Most High. Write down or record anything He May reveal to you.

# SING PRAISE AND WORSHIP. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and WORSHIP HIM in song.

# For married men, if you have been struggling with this issue and you have not spoken to your wife about this, use this time to be transparent and tell your wife EVERYTHING!! We can’t be transparent before Him if we are not being transparent with our spouses.

# Outside of reading scriptures, read other sources that are edifying.

# Married men—-Take a break during this time (I think you know what that means)
