It is said that when the Portuguese colonized Ternate in the 15th century, the people of Ternate threw their wealth into the lake so that they would not be seized by the Portuguese army. There are several sources that wrote that once a member of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) detected the bottom of the lake with a sonar device. It is indicated that there are metal objects at the bottom of the lake, although it is not certain what they are.
