I raised my two young sons in our home we lovingly named Twisted Oak. It's a home that heats and cools itself, generates clean power, collects our water, heats that water with the sun, recycles our greywater to grow a jungle in an arid climate, and composts our waste back into the earth.

I carefully and consciously designed our home so that we do not rely on electricity for our comfort or safety. If we lose power, it's only a minor inconvenience.
